Local geologist Jay Temple, will lead a one-hour hike in Temple Canyon’s B. F. Rockafellow Ecology Park in Cañon City. Jay will lead the hike through outcroppings, and give a talk on the geologic history of the area. Interested hikers please register for the walk. The hike encompasses terrain that may be considered challenging and it is recommended that adults and teens be conditioned hikers (hike at your own risk). Please come prepared with sturdy shoes, plenty of water, and appropriate sun protection. The group will meet up at the B. F. Rockafellow Ecology Park Trailhead at 9 a.m. There are no available restrooms at the trailhead. Participants are encouraged to pack a lunch and enjoy a picnic following the hike.
