Learn about the most common unknown condition Prediabetes at a workshop in the West Custer County Library Community Room presented by Darcy Rhodes. It is estimated that 1 in 3 adults, 98 million people, have prediabetes, and of those, 8 of 10 do not know they have it. Workshop attendees will learn: the test results that signal prediabetes, about metabolic syndrome and how it relates to Diabetes risk, and some lifestyle changes you can make now to improve your health and possibly prevent type 2 diabetes. Darcy Rhodes, RDN, is a registered dietitian with the academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Darcy also recently completed a Certificate of Training course in Obesity and Weight Management. She works at the Custer County Senior Center as Head Cook, and Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center as inpatient dietitian. Darcy also teaches monthly nutrition classes at Altitude Fitness. She is very excited to partner with WCCLD on this event!
